Gunman steals money, cigarettes before fleeing into Church Hill

RICHMOND, Va. -- Police are looking for the man who robbed the BP convenience store, located at 2600 East Main Street, Tuesday night. The crime was reported at about 11:07 p.m.

"The male in the photos entered the store and brandished a handgun before stealing cash and Newport cigarettes from an employee," a Richmond Police spokesman said. "The suspect fled on foot to the steps that lead north into Church Hill."

Police described the robber as a black male, approximately six feet tall and was last seen wearing a black tee shirt, blue jeans, blue and white sneakers and a black stocking cap. He has a dark beard with patches of grey hair.
