2 wanted in apartment complex shooting

COLONIAL HEIGHTS, Va. — Police continue to search for two men in connection to a shooting outside an apartment on Clearfield Circle in Colonial Heights. The parking lot shooting was reported Tuesday, April 19, at 4:46 p.m.

“All suspects fled the scene prior to the arrival of police. Police were able to identify all parties involved. One of the suspects was apprehended a short time later,” Colonial Heights Police spokesman Sgt. Rob Ruxer said. “The other two suspects are still at large.”

Police are looking for Wesley Cox, 23, of Petersburg, and Darias Leake, 19, of Petersburg.

“Cox is wanted for shooting into an occupied dwelling, discharging a firearm within 1,000 ft. of a school and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon,” Ruxer said. “Darias Leake is wanted for two counts of Assault & Battery and destruction of property.”
