RICHMOND, Va. — The motorcycle driver involved in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday on W. Cary Street died Wednesday morning, according to police.

Nicholas P. Dillion, 38, of Richmond has been identified as the victim in the accident.

Police said a two vehicle crash occurred around 7:08 p.m. Tuesday. Dillion, who was driving a 2014 KTM Adventure Motorcycle, was traveling at a high rate of speed east on West Cary Street and operating the motorcycle in a ‘reckless manner,’ according to police.

A 2008 Ford F-150 pickup truck, which had been stopped at the stop sign on South Addison Street, was easing into the intersection when the motorcycle struck its front driver’s side door.

Both drivers and a passenger in the pickup truck were taken to the hospital for treatment. Dillion succumbed to his injuries Wednesday morning.

A Richmond Police Crash Team responded to the scene, where they took measurements and interviewed witnesses. Due to the death of the motorcyclist, no charges are expected to be filed.
