Pastors thank law enforcement with special service

RICHMOND, Va. -- The Community Church of God in Christ hosted a special law enforcement appreciation service in Richmond Sunday.

Senior Pastor David Wright and special guest pastor John Peyton saluted police officers for their service to the community.

Officers came from several communities in Central Virginia attended the event.

The day was filled with positive messages and special a thank you to officers who put their lives on the line every day for the citizens in our area.

"When things go bad in our profession they go bad real quickly, so at least they can know that other people and other groups out here understand what they are going through thank them they are more than welcome  for the things that they do putting their lives on the line  each and every day,” event co-organizer Danny Webb said.

This was the inaugural event. Organizers plan to host it again next year.
