FORT LEE, Va. — Emergency crews from Fort Lee and Prince George County responded to a brush fire reported at the Range complex at 2:26 p.m. Friday.

Fire officials said the fire was contained and crews are now monitoring the five-acre area where the incident occurred as of 5:35 p.m.

The brush fire was believed to have been caused by tracer rounds during live-fire training, which has been suspended for the day to prevent further fires. No injuries or damage to buildings have been reported.

According to an incident report from Fort Lee Fire Chief Phillip Wilkinson, smoke may affect visibility on River Road and motorists should be cautious when driving in that area.
