ROCKBRIDGE COUNTY, Va. -- A 10-year-old boy was credited for helping dozens of guests escape a fire at a Virginia bed and breakfast Saturday night, WDBJ7 reported.

The fire destroyed Good Place Farms Bed and Breakfast near Lexington. There were about 40 people at the bed and breakfast that night for a wedding.

Ten-year-old Ashton Dunford saw the flames and jumped into action.

"I screamed really to the top of my lungs. I said, ‘Everyone out, '" Dunford told WDBJ. "It was kind of terrifying because I thought there were people upstairs sleeping because it was really late at night."

No one was hurt in the fire. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but the bed and breakfast's owner said he believed  the fire started in the furnace room.
