RICHMOND, Va. – Police have discovered the true identity of a man found dead from gunshot wounds in a South Richmond parking lot.

At approximately 2:12 a.m., Monday, March 7, Richmond Police Department officers were called to the Town and Country apartment complex in the 1400 block of Armfield Road for a report of a person down.

When officers arrived they found Clemente Jimenez  Lopez down and unresponsive in the parking lot of the apartment complex, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

At the time of the incident, the victim possessed identification that led detectives to believe he was De Jesus-Baldes Noe, 31, of the 1400 block of Armfield Road.

Now police said that was an alias.

Lopez, age 34, was a resident at the apartment complex, but he was using a fake ID.

With assistance from the F.B.I. and information from relatives in Guatemala, RPD detectives were able to determine the victim’s true identity.

Police continue to investigate the case.
