Chester crash knocks out power to hundreds of customers

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va --Crews reopened West Hundreds Road after a crash that left hundreds without power.

The crash happened at around 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the 4700 block of West Hundred Road. Police said Ann Crews, 68, was headed east when she ran off the road. She then knocked down a power pole.

The crash left 300 customers without power. Dominion crews expected power to be restored by 7:00 a.m. Friday.

Police had to close West Hundred Road to allow Dominion Crews to complete the work. The road was reopened at around 6:30 am.

Crews had non-life threatening injuries. She was charged with failing to maintain control of a car.
