HENRICO COUNTY, Va. -- An investigation is underway after a home invasion in Henrico County after police responded to a home along the 100 block of Trafton Street, off East Laburnum Avenue, early Wednesday at about 2:41 a.m.

"The victims reported they were awoken to glass breaking and found the males in their residence that were wearing masks and armed," a Henrico Police spokesman said. "The suspects demanded money, but only took jewelry and fled."

A close friend of the victims told WTVR CBS 6 an elderly woman and her granddaughter were fast asleep when the robbers broke into their home.  The three suspects pointed their guns at the victims and demanded money.   When the victims said they did not have any, the suspects took some jewelry from inside the home and fled, according to friends of the victim.

Neighbors in the quiet residential area not far from Richmond International Raceway said they are frightened by the break-in and are "tightening things up" around their homes.

No one was injured during the course of the robbery, police and neighbors confirmed.

Anyone with information about this crime was asked to call Crime Stoppers at 804-780-1000 or submit a news tip here.
