CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. — Police have arrested a 36-year-old woman for robbing theSunTrust bank inside a grocery store on Hicks Road in Chesterfield County earlier this week.
Police said Shaunda M. Bassani, of the 100 block of Big Meadows Terrace in Chesterfield, was arrested Wednesday morning in Richmond on an unrelated outstanding warrant.
Bassani was charged with robbery and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony after detectives said she walked up to a teller at the SunTrust bank inside the Kroger around 3 p.m. on Monday.
That’s where police said she handed the teller a note stating she was armed and wanted money. Upon receiving cash, police said the suspect Bassani ran off.
No weapon was displayed and no one was injured.
Police said she was wearing brown sunglasses, a gray sweatshirt and jeans and carrying a burgundy purse.
Police released surveillance images of the suspect Tuesday and officials credited several Crime Solvers tips in identifying the suspect.
Bassani is being held without bond at the Chesterfield County Jail.
