Police investigating early morning shooting in Hopewell

HOPEWELL, Va. — Police are investigating after a shooting early Saturday morning left one person injured.

Officers responded to the Canterbury Apartments on the 500 block of Manchester Court a little after 1 a.m. in reference to reports of multiple shots being fired. Upon arrival, they located a victim who had sustained a serious but non-life threatening gunshot wound.

Emergency medical personnel were dispatched to the scene and the victim was transported to John Randolph Medical Center.

Police continue to investigate this matter and ask that anyone who may have witnessed the shooting or traveled in and around the area at the time of the incident either contact lead Detective Mike Parsio of the Hopewell Police Department at 804-541-2284 or the Hopewell/Prince George Crime Solvers at 804-541-2202.
