Man suffers multiple gunshot wounds in South Richmond shooting

RICHMOND, Va. -- Richmond Police are investigating a shooting Thursday night that left a man with multiple gunshot wounds in South Richmond.

Richmond Police said they received a call of a person shot in the area of Jeff Davis Hwy. and Boston Ave. When police responded to the scene they found nothing there.

Police said they received a second call for a person shot at 9:30 p.m. at Belvidere and W. Franklin St. There they found a man shot multiple times. He was taken to VCU Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Richmond Police tell CBS 6 the victim was driven from the Jeff Davis Hwy. scene to Belvidere and W. Franklin by Good Samaritan, who then called police.

No suspect is in custody at this time.

Police ask anyone with information on this crime to contact Crimes Stoppers at 780-1000.
