Woman dies from gunshot wound in South Richmond parking lot; man injured

RICHMOND, VA -- One woman is dead and another man is recovering in the hospital after an early morning shooting in Richmond.

Officers responded to the 3900 block of Larchmont Lane around 2 a.m. for a call of shots fired. Police searched the area, but did not find a victim.

A short time later, police received a call of help from two people in a car with gunshot wounds at the Circle Plaza Shopping Center off Hull Street Road.

Police said the female victim, Chantel Norville, age 25, died at the scene. A male victim, also in his 20s, was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police said both victims were shot along Larchmont Lane, near Midlothian Village, and then drove to the Circle Plaza Shopping Center to call police for help.
