State Champions crowned at the Siegel Center

Several area schools won State Championships at the Siegel Center.  In 6A, Cosby beat Langley 42-37 for their 3rd straight Girls State Title.  Jocelyn Jones scored 18 points along with 10 rebounds.  Tyra Whitehead added 12 and 16 boards.

In 4A, the Monacan Chiefs won the Boys and Girls State Title.  The Chiefs won their first Boys' title after they beat Lake Taylor 57-53.  Nick Parks had 15 points and five assist in the victory.

The Lady Chiefs won back to back State Titles after they beat William Fleming 93-56.  Jaiden Morris scored a career high 37 points, 33 in the first half which set a VHSL tournament record for most points scored in a half.  Megan Walked added 17 and 14 boards.

In other tournament finals, Highland Springs lost in the 5A Girls Final to Princess Anne 73-50.   Taya Bolden had 14 points in the loss.

In the 5A Boys Final,  L.C. Bird fell to Potomac 67-61.  Charles Falden scored19 of his game high 35 points in the fourth quarter.
