HOPEWELL, Va. – Multiple fire crews extinguished a blaze after more than 700 gallons of oil caught fire at a plant in Hopewell Friday afternoon.

WTVR CBS 6 reporter Wayne Covil said that the fire happened at Associated Asphalt in the 400 block of Water Street.

The burning oil was apparently next to barrels of hazardous materials, but it is unclear exactly what is in those barrels.

This is the former Regional Enterprise plant.
