L.C. Bird got 16 points from Charles Falden and 12 from Cam Henry in a 61-53 win over Highland Springs in one Conference 12 boys semifinal game. The Skyhawks will face Varina in the Conference 12 final after the Blue Devils outlasted Meadowbrook 45-44
In the Conference 11 girls semifinals, J.R. Tucker advanced over Henrico 65-54 behind 22 points from Tierra Johnson. They will play Glen Allen in the final after the Jaguars scored a minor upset over Deep run 51-30.
Virginia Tech had season lows in scoring and shooting percentage in a 65-49 loss to 11th ranked Miami. There are now 6 teams within one game of the ACC lead.
St. Joseph's knocked off 15th ranked Dayton 79-70 to create a three-way tie at the top of the A-10 standings between those two teams and VCU...all three are 11-2 in conference.
