Volunteers find missing Dinwiddie man’s body

DINWIDDIE COUNTY, Va. — Officials said a 47-year-old man who ran away from home after possibly overdosing on prescription medication Friday afternoon was found dead in Dinwiddie County Sunday afternoon.

Dinwiddie County Sheriff’s Office officials said the body of Michael Thomas Mikalonis, who was last seen around 3 p.m. in the 6900 block of Frontage Road in the northern part of the county, was located around 3 p.m. by volunteers searching along Frontage Road.

Mikalonis, who suffered from Multiple Sclerosis and a history of seizures, was in need of “immediate medical attention,” deputies said in a news release.

Officials said no foul play is suspected in Mikalonis’ death.
