HENRICO COUNTY, Va. -- The man linked to at least a half dozen East End home break-ins was arrested, according to police. Christopher Casserly was taken into custody Wednesday night.
Casserly's wife, Toni was arrested Tuesday night, after police stopped their car near Richmond International Airport. During the stop, police said Christopher bailed and ran toward the I-295 overpass.
The couple's two children were in the car at the time of Toni Casserly’s arrest Tuesday. Investigators believe Christopher grabbed a shotgun during one of the home break-ins Tuesday.
Tuesday break-ins
Tuesday a woman said her window was smashed and her shotgun was stolen. She said the weapon has less monetary, but more sentimental value for her.
"My daughter’s husband died last summer and she gave it to Bobby for him to keep,” said Claudia Apperson.
She said she was stunned when she saw the wreckage.
"Definitely surprising,” said Apperson. “I was frightened to death. I didn't know what was going on."
In a community with a majority of older residents, neighbors like Gary Ricker said it's time to tighten up and take care of each other.
“He'll get caught. He will," Ricker said. "We checked on everyone around here. We are a pretty tight neighborhood."
