RICHMOND, Va. – A nonprofit organization has partnered with local restaurants to help support programming in schools throughout Central Virginia.

The Junior Achievement of Central Virginia’s (JACV) is celebrating its 50th of providing in-school and after-school programs for students.

They provide the operations through their volunteer network.

JACV offers over 20 programs for K-12th grade and serves 26,000 students throughout Central Virginia, with support from 2,000 volunteers.

The classroom programs are free to teachers and schools.  JACV relies on the financial support of foundations, companies and individuals to provide the free programs. In February, they hope to raise money to continue their programs, which focus on three key areas:  work readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy.

Dine Out for JA is a partnership with some restaurants, and a donut shop, to raise money from purchases.

Glory Days Grill (both locations), Buz and Ned’s Real Barbecue (both locations), Marco’s Pizza RVA and Duck Donuts at Willow Lawn are participating in the Dine Out for JA charity event throughout the month of February.

“Marco’s Pizza RVA is excited to partner with Junior Achievement to cultivate and support young entrepreneurs throughout Central Virginia. As a growing enterprise, Marco’s Pizza RVA believes business education for our youth plays a powerful role in propelling our community to the top of the leaderboard in innovation, creativity and employment stability,” said Sara Ragsdale, owner of Marco’s Pizza RVA.

Glory Days Grill will donate 10% of food and non-alcoholic beverages purchased, Monday through Thursday, 11:30 a.m. – 11 p.m.

Buz and Ned’s will donate 10% of food and non-alcoholic beverages purchased only on every Monday in February, from 6 p.m. – 10 p.m.

Marco’s Pizza will donate 15% of food and non-alcoholic beverages purchased only on every Thursday in February, between 10 a.m. – 11 p.m.

And EVERY DAY in February, 50 cents of a donut purchase from Willow Lawn Duck Donuts will be donated. It has to be a QuackGivesBack donut variety.
