CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. — A Colonial Heights woman was arrested for drug possession Wednesday after sheriff’s deputies said she brought heroin into the Chesterfield County jail. April Shaw, 33, faces up to 10 years in prison and a $2,500 fine for the Class 5 Felony.
“During a search at the Chesterfield County Jail for another matter, a deputy discovered a scale and corner sections of bags with a powdery residue in her possession,” Chesterfield Sheriff’s Office spokesman Captain Donald Huff said. “The items were sent to the state lab for evaluation and tested positive for heroin.”
Shaw was released on bond. She is due back in court February 4.
