Honoring Dr. Wyatt Tee Walker

RICHMOND: The Richmond community will come together to honor the Legacy of a Legend, Dr. Wyatt Tee Walker, Dr. Walker served as Chief of Staff to Dr. Martin Luther King Junior and according to organizers Dr. Walker was the key strategist for Dr. King during the early years of the civil rights movement. There are two events honoring Dr. Walker, first on Thursday, January 28 from 7pm-9pm, A "Bridging The Gap Community Worship Service" with Worship Leader Michael L.W. Moore and Preacher Dr. Jeremiah Wright. Scholarships will be given out to students at Richmond Public School. The event is at Virginia Union University, Allix B. James Chapel and is free and open to the public.

The second event is on Saturday, January 30th from 1pm -3pm at VUU Claude G. Perkins Living and Learning Center, Local and National Community Leaders will celebrate the Life and Legacy of Dr. Walker.  Mark S. Tillman, General President of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc will also honor Dr. Walker for his 70 years of membership with the Fraternity.
