HENRICO, Va. – Two gas stations have taken a hit during the recent snow storm, both within two blocks of each other.

During the storm, the combined weight of millions of tiny flakes of snow, and the gusty winds were too much for the awning over the gas pumps at the Danco Mini-Mart. The shop is in the 3300 block of Williamsburg Road.

Late Monday, the owners of the Citgo, two blocks away on Williamsburg Road, in the 3100 block, were informed the roof was beginning to lean.

The awning was leaning heavily due to the weight of snow.

On Tuesday the owner said he decided to take it down, before it collapsed. It will be removed completely, and the shop will reopen Wednesday.
