NORFOLK, Va. -- Passengers flying from Newark, New Jersey to the Dominican Republic will spend a day stranded at Norfolk International Airport after their plane made an emergency landing Sunday morning. Engine problems forced the United Boeing 757 to make an emergency landing, WTKR reported.
The plane landed safely, but the next plane scheduled to carry the passengers to the Dominican Republic was not expected to take off until Monday afternoon.
"We've been here since 11:30 and no plane is coming to take us to the Dominican Republic," passenger Maria Pagan said Sunday. "No food, no nothing. Everybody's got kids in here and it's a rough day."
No one was injured during the emergency landing.
