National Zoo’s giant panda cub makes debut

WASHINGTON — Bei Bei, the Smithsonian National Zoo’s newest giant panda cub, met his adoring public for the first time Saturday.

The four month old joined his parents, Tian Tian and Mei Xiang, on display at the National Zoo in Washington, D.C..

Panda fans have been eagerly awaiting his debut since his birth on August 22. Bei Bei had a twin but that cub died on August 26.

Bei Bei’s brother, Bao Bao, was born in 2013 and is also on display for visitors to see.
