HOPEWELL, Va. — Security cameras at Hopewell Chemical Federal Credit Union on Elm Street captured a clear image of a man accused of robbing the place.
“An employee was approached by an offender with an envelope in his hand with a note demanding money, after receiving an under determined amount of currency the offender was seen running south behind the building carrying the envelope,” a Hopewell Police spokesperson said.
Police described the man as a 5’10”, 165-pound, light-in-complexion Hispanic or black male in his late 20’s or early 30’s. He wore a blue hoodie zip up jacket, black tee shirt, blue jeans, black hat, white tennis shoes and had a mustache, police said. He had a white ear bud in his right ear. The man drove off in a late-model Toyota Scion with black rims.
The robbery was reported Wednesday, January 13, at 11:24 a.m. Anyone with information was asked to call Hopewell/Prince George Crime Solvers at 804-541-2202.
