ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. — When Caromont Farm in Albemarle County put out a call for volunteers to snuggle with goats, they likely had no idea so many people were up for the task.

“We have had such an overwhelming response to our call for goat snugglers, you guys are awesome!” the farm posted on Facebook this week.”Unfortunately we could not fit all of you on to our volunteer schedule, but to show our appreciation we are hosting a Goatapalooza on April 3rd! We will open our farm between 12 and 4 to anyone who would still like to come get some goat love in.”

Last week the farm put out word that it needed volunteers to snuggle and feed the 90 newborn goats it expected by mid-February.

“This is kidding season, it’s gonna be a really happy and really hectic time,”  farm worker Isabella Zechini said. “We’d love to have people come and see that whole process and see where their food comes from.”

Caromont Farm is home to over 120 happy goats who provide milk for Gail Hobbs-Page’s fresh and aged cheeses, according to the farm’s Facebook page.
