RICHMOND, Va. -- Tuesday will be a breezy and cool day, with highs in the upper 40s and low 50s. A powerful upper-level storm system and cold front will move through the Mid-Atlantic late Tuesday, bringing a few sprinkles and snow flurries to the area Tuesday evening.

Wednesday will be a mostly sunny, but cold day in Virginia as high pressure settles into the Commonwealth. High temperatures in many locations, including Richmond, will only reach the mid 30s.

We’ll see a warm-up Thursday and Friday ahead of our next storm system. This system will bring a chance of rain to the area late Friday into early Saturday, followed by another shot of cold air. Highs Saturday will be in the upper 40s and low 50s, with a colder day expected on Sunday, with upper 30s and low 40s for highs.
