RICHMOND, Va. -- Officials with the Virginia Lottery say one Powerball ticket worth $1 million was sold in Suffolk, Virginia. And 15 tickets, two of which were sold in Central Virginia, are good for $50,000.

Saturday night’s winning Powerball numbers were 32-16-19-57-34. The Powerball number was 13. No one won matched all six numbers, so the jackpot soared to $1.3 billion. The next Powerball drawing will be at 10:59 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 13.

Virginia Lottery officials said Sunday that more than 489,000 in Saturday’s drawing, including one ticket worth $1 million, won prizes.

The $1 million ticket was purchased at Convenience on the Go in the 1400 block of Holland Road in Suffolk.

Additionally, 15 tickets won $50,000 in the drawing:

"The excitement generated by that $1.3 billion estimated jackpot for Wednesday’s drawing is expected to lead to record sales in Virginia," lottery officials said in a news release.

If one ticket matches all six numbers in Wednesday’s drawing, the winner will take the full $1.3 billion jackpot in 30 annual payments, or a one-time cash option of $806 million before taxes. If multiple tickets match all six numbers, then the jackpot will be divided among them.

Powerball set a record for the biggest jackpot ever when it reached a staggering $900 million Saturday. The previous largest winning jackpot was in 2012 with a MegaMillions game that was worth $656 million.

The jackpot hit $700 million on Thursday after nobody won on Wednesday night — the 18th drawing without a winner.

The current jackpot has been growing since November 7. It first broke into the top 10 largest jackpots ranking last weekend, when it hit $400 million. Since then ticket sales have only taken off.

Powerball is sold in 44 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
