The 6th Annual Israeli Film Festival brings the Israeli culture to the big screen through internationally acclaimed cinema, Four moving films explore the tensions of heritage versus contemporary trends, family, faith and more at the Weinstein JCC.  Program admission is $12 per film or $42 for all four films with discounts for JCC members. Follow your favorite characters in “Dressing Downton: Changing Fashion for Changing Times, a new Exhibition at the Virginia Historical Society, 428 North Boulevard and  runs through January 10, 2016. The exhibit highlights fashion from the popular PBS TV series Downton Abbey. In this traveling exhibition you’ll see thirty-six period costumes with jewelry and accessories from the hit series and be transported into the lives of Downton’s aristocratic inhabitants and their servants during the 1910’s and 1920’s. Dominion GardenFest of Lights and this year’s theme “H2Whoa” showcases water in all its forms. Dominion GardenFest opens nightly 5-10pm. Visitors will see a dazzling 30-acre light and botanical display highlighting some of the many ways water surrounds us and shapes the world in which we live. The garden is also jammed packed with more than half-a-million twinkling lights, hand-crafted botanical decorations, model trains, holiday dinners, fire pit with s’mores and hot chocolate (for purchase). STANDING TOGETHER  at Congregation Beth Ahabah, 1111 W Franklin St, Richmond, In response to increasing Islamophobia, xenophobia, and divisive rhetoric, “Standing Together” is an initiative to bring diverse groups in Richmond together to speak out and stand with the Muslim community and others who are marginalized. The community is invited to attend a “Standing Together” gathering from 4pm – 5pm, the program will feature speakers, a panel discussion, and community conversations. Tickets and more information at www.inclusiveva.org.
