Police seek identity of man wanted for Colonial Heights armed robbery

Sonoco suspect

COLONIAL HEIGHTS, Va. — Police seek the identity of a man wanted for an armed robbery at a Colonial Heights gas station. Police said on January 5 at approximately 4:50 a.m. they responded to the Sunoco gas station, located at 961 Temple Avenue for an armed robbery.

The victim, who was an employee, said the suspect entered the business and demanded money, drawing a small black semi-automatic handgun.

The suspect obtained cash from the register and fled the store. He was last seen running eastbound on Temple Avenue towards Conduit Road.

The suspect was described as a black male wearing a red hoodie and grey sweatpants over blue jeans. He was also described as having two “tear drop” tattoos on the right side of his face.
