SPRINGFIELD, Va. — Police identified the man killed crossing Interstate 95 in Springfield as Jeremy D. Collins, 36, of Providence Forge, according to Virginia State Police.
“A 2012 Toyota Corolla was traveling south on I-95 in the left lane when it encountered a pedestrian – wearing dark, non-reflective clothing – walking across the travel lane. The pedestrian was struck and died at the scene,” a Virginia State Police spokesman said. “The driver of the Corolla, a 21-year-old Fredericksburg, Va., man was transported to Fairfax Inova Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. He will not be charged.”
