TRI-CITIES — A large swath of customers in the Tri-Cities — Chesterfield, Petersburg and Colonial Heights, are without power on a frigid day.
Dominion said that at some point 7, 573 customers were affected. Dominion said they are aware of the issue and are working to re-route power right now.
There was equipment failure at a substation, a representative said to CBS 6.
They expect to have a majority of customers restored quickly. The number of outages continues to drop.
Use caution approaching intersections without lights. Dominion also asked not to call 911, as the problem is known, and being addressed.
