Posted

RICHMOND, Va. — Do you know a public school teacher who stands out above the rest? The Virginia Lottery, the Virginia PTA and The Supply Room Companies are looking for nominees for the ninth annual Super Teacher Awards. Click here to nominate a teacher for the honor.

“The Super Teacher Awards are a great way for the Lottery to highlight our commitment to Virginia’s K-12 public schools,” Paula Otto, Executive Director of the Virginia Lottery, said. “It gives the Lottery an opportunity to show Virginians that we’re game for education, and it also gives our communities a unique opportunity to show their appreciation of their local teachers.”

Nominations will be accepted through February 15.

“Being a Virginia Lottery Super Teacher is just that – “SUPER,” 2013 Super Teacher Karen Drosinos, said. “To be recognized for doing what I love to do every day is both humbling and fulfilling.”

Eight Virginia educators selected as 2016 Super Teachers will win 2,000 from the Virginia Lottery and $2,000 in classroom supplies from The Supply Room Companies. Anyone 18 or older can nominate a Virginia pre-K-12 public school teacher.
