Richmond, Va. -- After spending 13 days above freezing, seasonably cold temperatures returned this weekend with morning lows in the 20s and 30s. Afternoon highs have still been above the normal of 47°, but Sunday's highs in the 50s will be the last mild weather for a few days.
A series of cold fronts will bring colder air into the region on Monday. Afternoon highs will barely make it to 40° in many locations, and nighttime lows will fall into the teens. Highs on Tuesday will stay in the 30s for much of the area, with more lows in the teens Tuesday night.
This will be the coldest weather in about ten months.
Temperatures will moderate back into the 50s on Thursday. Another batch of colder air will arrive next week.
