HENRICO COUNTY, Va. -- Demonstrators gathered Saturday to demand justice after a Henrico officer shot a woman at a gas station on Nine Mile Road two weeks ago.
Family members said she was struck four times, including once in the head. They said neither she nor the driver were armed.
McNeil's cousin organized the protest and claims the officer did not identify himself during the traffic stop.
"We want to know his name and we want to see him brought to justice,” John McNeil said. “I mean because if it was the other way around, we would be brought to justice."
The family said McNeil now suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder and has been back and forth to the hospital since the incident.
McNeil said the family plans to hold another protest next weekend and has asked the NAACP protest to join them.
