Police working homicide after man found shot behind home

RICHMOND, Va. – Police are investigating a homicide after a man was shot early Sunday morning on Richmond’s Southside.

Officers found a wounded man behind a home in the 3800 block of Midlothian Turnpike just after 2 a.m.

Paramedics took the victim to the hospital where he later died.

Investigators said they have not determined the victim’s identity and do not know if he lives at the residence.

This is the city’s second homicide of 2016.
