RICHMOND, Va. -- A Richmond man has died at VCU Medical Center after being stabbed in the 2200 block of Williamsburg Road on December 30.

Family members have identified the victim as Tyrese Mulik Minor of the East End.

Richmond police arrested Kenya Williams on the scene and so far she's charged with malicious wounding.

"Very shocked," said Minor's Goddaughter Brittany Austin Ward. "He's a great guy! It's very confusing as to why this happened. It's just senseless."

Ward said she’s stunned because Minor was kind and generous to everyone. Police sources tell CBS 6 Williams and Minor were heard arguing shortly before he was stabbed.

Minor is a father of three and family members said he worked hard to provide for them, as he is a well-known barber in the East End.

Now all they can do is pray for his recovery.

Ward said she’s looked up to Minor since she was six and can’t even stand the thought of losing him.

"I don't want to say, ‘he might not make it,’ he’s going to make it, unless he doesn’t then it’s going to hit me hard,” Ward said.
