MCCLEAN, Va. – A pair of Neiman Marcus jeans shipped to New York from Tyson’s Corner in Virginia, with a man’s wedding ring in the pocket.

That's according to New York resident Jean Vlahopouliotis, who is determined to reunite the wedding band with its mystery owner.

She said her husband ordered a pair of size 38 “7 for All Mankind, Luxe performance” jeans on Dec. 14. The jeans arrived on Dec. 29.

“I thought my husband was kidding,” Vlahopouliotis said of the moment when he walked up with a wedding ring in his hand.

As fate sometimes befalls married folk, she said her husband, unfortunately, lost his wedding band a year ago. She thought he had found it, though closer inspection revealed that it wasn’t his.

The ring is either a white gold or sterling silver Benchmark band, and there is a specific inscription inside.

“I need to get it back to them, this is crazy,” Vlahopouliotis said.

“I’m on a wild goose chase and I won’t stop until it’s done,” she added. “This is my mission.”

A customer service representative at Neiman Marcus speculated that perhaps the person who packed the order accidentally lost the ring.

And Vlahopouliotis said the pants had tight enough pockets that she could imagine someone trying them on, reaching into the pockets, and not noticing when the ring got left behind.

The agent she spoke with at Neiman Marcus said they would attempt to track down the pants to see if they had previously been returned by a customer, Vlahopouliotis  said. A public relations spokesperson for the company was out of office and could not comment.

If you know of, or are, the ring’s owner, email Vlahopouliotis and detail the correct inscription on the band.
