Frank Beamer wins final game as Virginia Tech Head Coach

In his final game as Hokies Head Coach...Frank Beamer went out as a winner as Virginia Tech beat Tulsa 55-52 to win the Independence Bowl in Shreveport, LA.  Tech scored on seven of their first eight possessions in the first half including a 67 yard punt return for a touchdown by Greg Stroman.  The Hokies set a bowl record by scoring 45 points in the first half as they clinched their 23rd straight winning season with the win.
