Man killed in motorcycle wreck in Chesterfield County

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. — Police are investigating a deadly wreck in Chesterfield County Sunday afternoon.

Chesterfield police said the single-vehicle crash happened in the 8000 block of Reedy Branch Road around 2:40 p.m.

That’s when a man on a Kawasaki motorcycle traveling east on Reedy Branch Road ran off the highway. On Monday his identity was released by police.

The driver of the motorcycle, Thomas M. Madison, 29, of the 800 block of Rosemont Street in Petersburg, was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene,” Lieutenant J.A. Seamster with Chesterfield police said in a news release.

Police are investigating what caused the crash.
