PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Va. -- Police have euthanized a dog they say attacked two adults and bit another dog Sunday afternoon in Prince George County.

The incident happened a little before 12 p.m. on the 2800 block of Manitoba Court when a family took their dog for a walk.

Police said that's when a neighbor's pit bull got loose and attacked the dog before also biting the two adults.

A neighbor came outside and helped the family get away from the dog.

Police said the pit bull tried to bite an officer, so the dog was shot and killed on the scene.

Police said the injured dog was transported to a local emergency vet and was still alive at last check.
