RICHMOND, Va. -- Christmas is a working day for panhandlers. There were plenty out this balmy day, including a first-timer who has a very unusual technique.
Allyne Eral, a German native who speaks three languages, is staying at the Diamond Inn and Suites with her children, the oldest is 16 and the youngest is three.
She was panhandling at the busy Boulevard exit off northbound I-95, "playing my tuning forks for the world, for world peace, for love and joy and unity, and at same time people were stopping and giving me money. So within an hour I made $47. And that's quite amazing."
