LOS ANGELES — Janet Jackson’s “Unbreakable” world tour is on hold so the singer can have surgery. The five-time Grammy Award winner made the announcement on Facebook on Thursday night.

“I need you to know, I learned today, from my doctors that I must have surgery soon,” Jackson said. “It breaks my heart to tell you that I am forced to postpone the Unbreakable Tour until the spring.”

Jackson said every date would be rescheduled and told fans to hold on to their tickets. She didn’t disclose what type of surgery she was having.

“Please pray for me, my family and our entire company during this difficult time,” Jackson said. “I love you all so much and am ever grateful for your understanding and your love. Gon’ b alright.”

The 2016 leg of the tour was scheduled to start in Denver on January 9 and continue until the end of June.

Jackson, 49, has sold 160 million records worldwide, but has not been in the spotlight much in recent years.

She released her 11th studio album, “Unbreakable,” this year.

Her brother, pop icon Michael Jackson, died in 2009.

The following year, she starred in Tyler Perry’s “Why Did I Get Married Too?” and married Qatari billionaire Wissam Al Mana in 2012.
