3 Christmas morning crashes on same stretch of I-95

RICHMOND, Va. – Virginia State police are investigating multiple crashes that happened at separate times along the same stretch of Interstate 95 in Richmond downtown Friday morning. All of the accidents happened near exit 74 between midnight and 2:20 a.m.

A black SUV slammed against the jersey wall on I-95 South near exit 74 just after midnight, according to police. While crews worked to clear the scene, another car, headed in the opposite direction, crashed in the same place.

At 2:20 a.m., there was another car accident on Interstate 95 South at exit 74. Police confirmed multiple vehicles were involved in the accident. The crash closed all but one lane on I-95 South.

All lanes were clear of crashes as of 5 a.n. Christmas morning.
