RICHMOND, Va. -- Volunteers with Bridging RVA brought back a Richmond Christmas tradition Friday when it provided dinner during the Community Christmas Day Dinner. The meal was served between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at Plant Zero in Manchester.

"Nobody should be alone on Christmas Day," John Sawyer, Bridging RVA’s co-founder and Executive Director, said.

Sawyer and Bridging RVA brought back the dinner after Freedom House closed leaving an estimated 800 people with no place to go on Christmas.

"For two years now, that created a gap that we knew Bridging RVA could fill," he said.
