Police identify Richmond man killed crossing Hull Street

RICHMOND, Va. -- Police identified the man killed walking across Hull Street Tuesday night as Charles E. Campbell Jr., 52, of the 3400 block of Clydewood Avenue in Richmond. A 1998 GMC pickup truck hit Campbell as he attempted to cross the 4300 block of Hull Street, near Woodhaven Drive, at about 8:30 p.m.

"Investigators with the RPD Crash Team responded to the scene, where they interviewed the driver and witnesses and took measurements. No charges are expected at this time," a Richmond Police spokesman said. "Anyone with information that may be helpful to the investigation is asked to call Sergeant Berkley Eikerenkoetter at 646-1707 or Crime Stoppers at 780-1000."
