Police said the driver hit a telephone pole, and his car caught on fire.

RICHMOND, Va. – Richmond Police officers are searching for a driver who hit a telephone pole overnight Friday.

Several streets along Jeff Davis Highway, including Harwood and Minefee Streets are closed Friday morning because of the crash.

The driver did not stay at the scene. He exited the burning vehicle and ran.

Officers are still searching for this man.

Verizon will need to repair the pole before the roads can reopen.
