HANOVER COUNTY, Va. — You could have 30 more places to shop and eat by the time Christmas 2017 rolls around. Developers planning to build the Outlets at Richmond, off Interstate 95 near BassPro in Hanover, hope to have at least part of the huge complex open by then. Craig Realty Group submitted its plans to the Hanover County Planning Department for preliminary approval this week.
“We are looking forward to a quick approval process and an anticipated Grand Opening in the holiday season 2017. Outlets at Richmond will provide an upscale shopping experience with quality brand-name merchandise for the Richmond area and surrounding region. We look forward to the site plan being approved and construction beginning in a timely manner,” Craig Realty Group chief executive officer Steven L. Craig said in a written statement.
Developers hope to begin construction this coming summer.
“The first phase of the Outlets at Richmond includes 273,355 square feet of outlet retail tenants plus restaurants and specialty food stores,” a company spokesperson wrote. “The developer anticipates a selection of nationally recognized retailers as well as trendy local and regional merchants.”
Stores anticipated to open at the Outlets at Richmond include:
- Under Armour
- Banana Republic
“We are excited to see the project moving ahead and look forward to the opening of this long awaited outlet mall,” Edwin Gaskins, Director of Economic Development for Hanover County, said.
If approved, the Outlets at Richmond would be located off exit 89 on Interstate 95 at the northeast corner of Lewistown Road and Lakeridge Parkway.
