RICHMOND, Va. -- A group of local business people will reveal plans to keep the Richmond Flying Squirrels in Richmond. The proposal is the latest in a years-long discussion about what should be done with the minor league team and the stadium.
This proposal involves detailed plans to renovate the current stadium and develop the land around the stadium, according to a report in the Richmond Times Dispatch. One of the engineers on the Save the Diamond planning committee is one of the original engineers who constructed the Diamond 30 years ago.
The group will present its detailed outline to the public on Wednesday at 2 p.m., at the Richmond Public Library at 101 East Franklin Street.
