HENRICO COUNTY, Va. -- An early morning crash and fuel spill slowed traffic during the wet Tuesday morning commute. When a tow truck driver noticed a crashed SUV he was putting on his tow truck was leaking fuel, a HAZMAT team was called in to contain and clean up the spill.

The SUV crashed at about 5:30 a.m. near the Chamberlayne Avenue exit (mile marker 82) on I-95 north. The crash and clean up forced VDOT to close the north left shoulder, left lane and center lane. Traffic backed up more than three miles.

VDOT expected the lanes to reopen at about 8 a.m.

No one was hurt in the crash. The cause of the crash remained under investigation.
